Guidelines for Abstract /Poster Submission

Abstract Structure

Authors are invited to submit their abstracts to any of the 13 sections listed under the Sections tab on the MCAP website. The respective section chairs and evaluators will review each abstract for academic quality, relevance, and originality.

You are invited to send your abstracts to anyone of the following sections

  1. Media Culture and Society
  2. Digital Media
  3. Film Studies
  4. Media Education
  5. Development Communication
  6. Political Communication
  7. Gender and Media
  8. Media Literacy
  9. Media Ethics
  10. Visual Communication
  11. Science Communication
  12. Audio Communication
  13. Marketing and Advertising Studies

  • Abstracts must be written in clear, coherent, and academically sound language and should include the following components:
  • Title – Clear, concise, and reflective of the paper’s content.
  • Author Information – Full name, institutional affiliation, email address, and contact number.
  • Purpose/Research Objectives – A brief statement of the research aim or question.
    Theoretical Framework – Indicate the conceptual or theoretical grounding of the study.
  • Methodology – Describe the research design, data collection, and analysis approach.
    Findings/Expected Outcomes and Implications – Summarize key results, potential contributions, and relevance to the field.
  • Keywords – Provide 4–6 relevant keywords.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Abstracts must not exceed 200-250 words (excluding title and author details).
  • Use Times New Roman, 12-point font, single spacing.
  • Submit in Word (.doc/.docx) format.
  • Only original submissions will be considered. No tolerance for plagiarism — any detected instance will lead to immediate rejection.

Submission Process

  • Abstracts must be submitted via email or the online form provided on the conference website.
  • Each author may submit up to two abstracts as lead author.
  • Accepted abstracts will be notified via email after peer review.
    Rights and Publications

By submitting an abstract, authors grant MCAP the right to include it in the conference program and proceedings.
Selected full papers from the conference may be considered for publication in one of MCAP’s affiliated and other journals:
Journal of Media and Communication Studies (JMCS)
Journal of Emerging Social Scientists (JESS)
Journal of Media Studies (JMS)

Best Paper Awards

To acknowledge outstanding scholarly contributions, one Best Paper Award Certificate will be presented to the best paper in each section. The selection will be based on originality, methodological rigor, theoretical contribution, and relevance to the conference theme.

Poster Abstract Guidelines

Abstracts should be 200–250 words, with the following headings: purpose/objectives, RQs, theoretical framework, methodology, findings and implications.

Submissions must be in Word (.doc/.docx) format, Times New Roman, 12-point font, single spacing.

Each abstract must include the title, author’s name, institutional affiliation, email address, and contact number.

No tolerance for plagiarism — originality is mandatory.

Poster Specifications

Posters should be prepared in A1 size (594 x 841 mm), portrait orientation.

Include the title, author details, abstract, visuals (figures, charts, infographics), and key findings.

Accepted presenters will be notified via email with further display instructions before the conference.

Best Poster Award

One Best Poster Award Certificate will be conferred in recognition of exceptional research contribution, creativity, and presentation quality.
